The Writer Room is a 6-week cohort for people who do not need more advice. They need a real time, a real group, and a structure strong enough to outweigh all the reasons their brain keeps giving them not to write.
Wanting to write isn’t always enough.
Same people. Same schedule. Visible presence. A paid reason to stop putting writing off.
The anti-procrastination engine for serious projects.
Wanting to finish your book isn't enough. When self-imposed deadlines fail and isolation turns into shame, you don't need another lecture or a critique group—you need external structural pressure.
Ragged Writer provides the exact environment that forces words out onto the page. No pre-recorded videos, no homework, and no hand-holding. Just raw focus.
What You Get:
6 Weeks of Shared Focus: Two scheduled 90-minute sessions per week starting June 23rd.
Strict Accountability: Max 12 writers per room. Cameras stay on, microphones stay muted. If you don't show up, your empty square is noticed.
The VIP Cohort Group: Access to a private Facebook group exclusively for your current 24 peers to keep momentum alive between sessions.
Lifetime Guild Access: Permanent entry into our alumni Discord community upon graduation to track long-term word counts and celebrate future milestones.
The Rules of the Room:
We start exactly on time.
We do not critique, read, or judge each other's work.
We show up, we turn our cameras on, and we type.
Only 12 seats are available per room to preserve the intimacy and pressure of the space. Claim your desk below.
The high-momentum engine for completing your manuscript.
If you are fighting a deep blockage or working against a looming deadline, waiting for inspiration will stall you out for months. You don't need more advice—you need a relentless routine and heavy external structural pressure.
The 3-Day Ragged Writer room is our highest-momentum track, designed for writers who want to establish an unbreakable, three-times-a-week rhythm. No lectures, no homework, no distractions. Just pure focus.
What You Get:
6 Weeks of High Momentum: Three scheduled 90-minute sessions per week starting June 23rd.
Strict Accountability: Max 12 writers per room. Cameras stay on, microphones stay muted. When you commit to three days a week, your presence anchors the room.

If writing alone keeps failing, this is built for that.
Some writers are not stuck because they lack ideas, intelligence, or desire. They are stuck because writing keeps losing to distraction, task-switching, exhaustion, false urgency, or the thousand other things their brain can make feel easier to do first.
That is what this room is for.
Not teaching.
Not critique.
Not more information.
A structure that makes writing more likely to happen.
The point of the room is simple: give writing enough structure and weight that it stops being the easiest thing to postpone. You aren't just buying six weeks of writing time. You are building a muscle memory you get to keep long after the program ends. For some people, six weeks is enough to reset their pattern; others choose to take more than one cohort as a way of reinforcing the habit when life gets noisy again.
Why this exists
Most people who end up here don’t struggle with knowing how to write. They struggle with showing up when nothing is really forcing them to.
The Writer Room exists for that exact problem: people who take their writing seriously, but keep getting pulled away by everything else. The structure: fixed time, the same group, visible presence, and a paid commitment; is there to make writing feel more immediate, and wasting the room feel harder to justify than showing up.
“I built this because I know what it feels like to care about writing, to want to write more than anything else, and still keep not doing it. I struggled with discipline until I had a room that made the time feel real. For me, that room was an online college course that cost over $1,500, and that structure helped me stay consistent long enough to get a story published in a literary magazine. You should not have to pay for an expensive class just to get that kind of structure. If this feels familiar, the Writer Room was built with you in mind.”
What your spot actually gives you
The live room is the core support, but it is not the only support.
A 6-week fixed cohort
The same people and the same schedule every week
90-minute live Zoom sessions from 8:00–9:30 PM Eastern
A simple structure: 15 minutes framing, 60 minutes writing, 15 minutes wrap
Visible presence during the writing block: your face or your workspace
A room capped at 10–12 participants
A private Facebook group for current cohort members
A private Discord for people who have taken the cohort, not a public writing server
Opportunities to talk after meetings, just not during the scheduled writing block
A volunteer email list shared with members for finding beta readers
You are not paying for content. You are paying for a structure that gives writing more weight in the moment than your usual reasons not to start, plus a private support ecosystem made up of people who understand this exact problem from the inside.

Why visible presence matters
This room does not work as well if everyone is just a black box with a name on it. The point is not surveillance. The point is tangible co-presence: the feeling that other people are actually here, working beside you, in real time.
So we ask you to keep either your face or your workspace visible during the writing block. A visible desk, hands, keyboard, or notebook still creates the sense that someone is here working. A room full of black boxes does not.
Face optional. Presence required.
Is this actually support, or just a room to write?
It is both.
The live room is the center of the experience: fixed time, shared focus, visible presence, and a reason to stop negotiating with yourself. That structure is support.
But the support does not stop when the writing block ends. That matters, because you are not being dropped into a giant public writing community full of random people who happen to call themselves writers. You are joining a smaller system of people who needed this kind of structure too.
Who this is for
You want to write and keep not doing it
You work better when another human can tell you actually showed up
You need accountability more than instruction
You want writing support without turning your writing time into discussion time
You can commit to the same schedule for 6 weeks
Who this is not for
You want a class, workshop, or critique group
You want teaching during the writing session
You want to keep all presence off during the writing block
You want flexible attendance with no consequences for missing sessions
You want a broad public writing community instead of a filtered, cohort-based one
Choose the pace you can actually keep
Part of what makes this work is that you paid for it. The room gives writing a scheduled place in your life that becomes harder to throw away.

Questions people usually ask
Do I have to show my face?
No. You can show your face or your workspace. The requirement is visible presence, not facial visibility.
Do I have to share my writing?
No. You can share if you want, but the room is built for focused writing time, not forced sharing.
Is this a class or critique group?
No. There is no teaching during the writing block, and this is not a workshop. The point is structure, accountability, and support around the work.
What if I miss a session?
Missed sessions are missed. The room works because people treat the time as a real commitment.
Who will be in the room?
You will be in a small, fixed cohort of writers who joined for the same reason: they want structure that helps them actually write.
What happens once I pay?
You will get the information you need to join, including your cohort, schedule, and next steps before the first session starts.
The Writer Room Contract
Presence is non-negotiable: Face or workspace on.
Commitment is real: Missed sessions are missed.
The focus is pure: No lecturing, no critiques, just the work.
This works because people show up. If you're ready to show up, we're ready to hold the door.
Stop disappearing from your work
